What Do EDEN's Home Health Aides Do?

Our Home Health Aides provide non-medical and basic health support to help individuals stay safely and comfortably in their own homes.

1. Personal Care (Core Service)

  • Bathing, grooming, and hygiene
  • Dressing and toileting assistance
  • Mobility support (walking, transfers, fall prevention)

👉 This is the heart of the role—helping with activities of daily living (ADLs).

2. Health Support (Non-Skilled / Supervised)

  • Medication reminders
  • Monitoring vital signs (depending on state rules)
  • Observing and reporting changes in condition

👉 They do not replace nurses, but support basic health oversight.

3. Daily Living Assistance

  • Meal preparation and feeding support
  • Light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, tidying)
  • Grocery shopping or errands
  • Escorting to appointments

👉 Helps clients maintain independence at home.

4. Companionship & Emotional Support

  • Conversation and social interaction
  • Reducing loneliness and isolation
  • Supporting mental well-being

👉 This is often as important as physical care.

5. Safety & Supervision

  • Fall prevention and safe transfers
  • Ensuring a clean, hazard-free environment
  • Being present for supervision (especially dementia care)
